Kendrapada Credit Co-operative Society president and social worker Pramod Kumar Sahu played a Good Samaritan role for an impoverished but meritorious girl of Ayeba village by providing financial help to her for her higher studies.
Monalisa Lenka, daughter of migrant worker, Surendra Lenka, has secured 83 per cent marks in matric examination this year. She was studying in Govari High School at Gandakhia.
As her father Surendra is a daily wager at Surat, the family struggle
it hard for their minimum needs. As such, it is difficult for them to support the higher studies of the girl.
Monalisa had appealed to the district administration seeking financial assistance for getting admission in a college as well as to purchase books. But she got no response.
When the matter came to the knowledge of Pramod, he provided an assistance of Rs 5,000 for her higher studies, besides handing over a new bicycle to commute daily and some clothes to her family members.
