A bride refused to marry a drunken man in Baniamala village under Binjharapur block in Jajpur district on Monday night.
The spirited act of 22-year-old bride has won the appreciation of people from various walks of life.
Hadibandhu Sethi (28) of village Pradhnapada along with his relatives arrived in a marriage procession to marry Sanghamitra Sethi (22). The bridegroom started dancing with his friends in an inebriated state in the procession which shocked many including the bride. A saddened Sanghamitra refused to marry the drunkard.
“The relatives of the groom also turned drunk, caused trouble and abused our family members,’ said the bride’s father Narayan Sethi.
