A 20-year-old girl of Jajanga village was allegedly raped by two youths on the pretext of marriage.
According to Sadar police station IIC Padarbinda Tripathy, one Snigdha Tripathy (name changed), of Jajanga village lodged an FIR alleging that on last April 15 evening while she was going to bring turmeric powder from a shop, one Shiba Samal, a resident of Dhumat village, came in a motorbike and asked to take her to the shop in his bike. later, Shiba slyly took her to Chandikhole and kept her in a rented house.
Shiba allegedly provided drug-laced food to her in dinner .When she woke up she discovered that she was raped by Shiba and lying undressed. When Snigdha cried, Shiba allegedly lured her by giving false promise of marriage.
Snigdha stayed at the rented house with Shiba with a hope that Shiba would marry her. The next day Shiba allegedly kept physical relationship with her, despite her wish. However, Shiba fled from the rented house all of a sudden.
When she was returning home on Paradip- Chandikhole Expressway, one Fukuna alias Raju Panda of Ratnagiri village came near her and offered her to leave her at her village. But he too did the same with the ill-fated girl. On Tuesday, Fukuna took Snigdha with him and left her near Santasahi bridge and returned back. When she brought her sorry plight before her family members, the family members contacted Fukuna over his telephone, but the latter denied having known the girl.
The Sadar police registered a case and sent the victim for medical test to the District Headquarters Hospital. Meanwhile, a haunt is on to nab the accused, stated Tripathy.
