A 16-year-old girl in Jajpur district was allegedly raped by a man in a moving car on Tuesday night. The incident took place while the girl was returning along with her father to their village Rachipur.
On the way, accused Kalindi Nath offered the girl a lift in the car to reach her village. But midway, he allegedly raped her. The girl’s father filed an FIR at the Jajpur Road police station against the accused person on Wednesday.
“Acting on the FIR, police registered a case under Sections 376 (rape) and 8 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offence Act (PCSCA), 2012 against the accused person. No arrest has been made. Police are investigating the case,” said Jajpur Road police station IIC Sishir Kumar Mishra.
