A girl from Kankaradia in the Kujanga area has lodged a complaint at the Kujang police station stating that she was raped by her lover’s friends three days ago.
She said in her complaint that she and her lover Narayan Swain had reached the Badabandha railway station after boarding a Cuttack-bound train. They missed the train at the station somehow. So, Narayan chose to move to his friend’s house at Balitutha to stay that night, instead of returning back.
Surprisingly, Narayan’s friend Jagannath Malla and his associate Sanjaya Behera allegedly barged into the room where the former and his beloved had taken rest. They immediately tied Narayan in a rope and took away the girl to a deserted location, where the duo raped her, the girl stated in her FIR.
Acting on the complaint, police sent the victim girl for medical examination and detained Narayan. The police also launched a manhunt to nab the rapists.
