In what can be described as a highly disgraceful incident, a girl took to Facebook alleging that she was molested by a policeman during the Adap Mandap darshan of the lords in the Gundicha temple here on Sunday .
The girl said that while she had gone to the temple along with her father and standing in a queue, taking advantage of the rush a cop touched her in her private parts. Seeing a policeman on duty doing such mischief, she got furious, dragged him by his collar and slapped him a couple of times.
However, during her ordeal, though the women police personnel knew about the incident, they did not come to her rescue, she alleged. She has demanded that the Chief Minister and the Prime Minister take action against the errant cop. Puri SP Sarthak Sarangi said he has not got any such written complaint. “But police would scrutinise the Facebook page. After the Niladri Bije ceremony, the incident will be investigated,” he said.
