Twin City Commissioner of Police Dr RP Sharma on Tuesday said the police would quiz crew members of the Bhubaneswar-bound Indigo flight in which a girl was allegedly misbehaved by her co-passenger, an industrialist, on January 27. Notably, a 60-year-old industrialist, Rabindra Jhunjhunwala, was arrested by the Airfield police here on the complaint of the victim, a fashion designer. However, he has been released on bail.
According to Dr Sharma, the girl had alleged that Jhunjhunwala, who was sitting behind her seat, touched her body by inserting his hand through the seat gap. The girl had objected to Jhunjhunwala’s alleged act first but when the latter advanced again she brought his act to the notice of crew members. “We will interrogate the crew members to whose notice the girl had brought the matter. After interrogating them, we will file a chargesheet in the case,” Dr Sharma said. Meanwhile, the police have seized the accused’s passport on the order of the court.
