A minor girl was allegedly kidnapped and raped by three miscreants in the Balisahi area of Ganjam district on Wednesday night. The victim was admitted to the MKCG Medical College Hospital here in a critical condition.
“Three persons barged into our house with an intention of robbery. They looted gold ornaments and cash. Before fleeing the spot, they abducted my daughter,” said the father of the girl.
The incident took place while the victim and her parents were asleep in their house. The robbers broke open the door of the house, stole the valuables and kidnapped the girl.
The trio took the girl to a nearby farmland, where they raped her, reports said. She was later rescued and hospitalised by her family members. Police have started investigation into the incident and launched a manhunt to nab the culprits.
