A girl sustained critical burn injuries when she came in contact with a live electric wire while taking selfie atop a train at the Tapang railway station in Khordha district on Thursday.
An eyewitness said the girl climbed the oil tanker of a stationary train in the morning to take selfie leading to the mishap
While taking selfei, the girl lost control and caught the overhead electric wire. In the process she sustained 80 per cent burn injuries, the eyewitness stated.
She was rescued by some locals and rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital. Later, she was referred to a hospital in Bhubaneswar after her condition worsened. She was identified as the daughter of Bijuli Sahoo of Malipada village in the district, police said.
