A minor girl drowned and conditions of her two younger sisters became critical while bathing in a pond at Dharanimal village under the Boden police limits in Nuapada district on Wednesday morning.
The deceased was identified as Khusbupriya Sahu(11). The two other girls were Khusli (8) and Upasana (7), who were rescued in critical conditions and admitted to the Khariar hospital. All of them had gone to the pond with their grandmother to take bath. Unfortunately, the trio slipped into deep water. They were rescued by the grandmother and rushed to the Sinapali hospital, where Khusbupriya was declared dead. Khusli and Upasana were later shifted to the Khariar hospital.
