The family of a17-year-old girl, who died at the Pandit Raghunath Murmu Medical College Hospital here on Sunday, have alleged medical negligence by the hospital staffs.
The girl of the Shyamakhunta area in Mayurbhanj district had been admitted to the hospital on October 30 as she was suffering from thalassemia. However, she died while under treatment on Sunday night.Her father alleged that she died due to medical negligence as blood transfusion couldn’t take place when it was required.
On the other hand, the concerned doctor said she was suffering from fever and blood was to be transfused after recovery. Tension ran high at the hospital over death of girl as her kin staged dharna by placing body in front of main gate. They also locked main gate creating inconvenience for patients and attendants.
