The Cuttack district administration along with the city police are on the lookout of the parents of an abandoned one-year-old girl child, who was found lying on the floor under the portico of the office of the district Collector here on Monday morning.
The undernourished physically-challenged child appears to be heavily traumatised and was rescued by the district Child Welfare Committee (CWC) and immediately shifted to the nearby Sishu Bhawan, the paediatric hospital.
“Since the police are on the lookout of the parents of the abandoned child, we admitted the child in the hospital for her immediate treatment,” informed the CWC Member Pradip Kumar Patnaik.
Patnaik said the Collectorate staffs first noticed the child and informed the CWC. As the Collectorate was closed on Sunday, it appeared that the child was abandoned on Monday morning.
