An unmarried girl, who was impregnated by a youth on the promise of marriage, is running from pillar to post to get justice after she gave birth to a baby in the Bondamunda area in Sundargarh district.
The victim Banita (not real name) was working in the house of a youth Sunil Raj at Dumerta area under the Bondhamunda police station.
Sunil kept a physical relationship with her for the last five years on the guise of marrying her. Later, he forced Bonita to have relationship with one of his friends Tarun Ekka, she stated in her complaint to the police.
Later, she become pregnant and gave birth to a child on September 13, 2019.
But after this neither Sunil nor his family accepted her repeated pleas for marriage and instead warned her of dire consequences. Finding no other alternative, she lodged a complaint with the Bondhamunda police , who have registered a case and began investigations.
"After receiving the victim’s complaint, a case under Section 376/417/294/506/34 IPC has been registered and we have started Investigation in to the matter," said IIC Bondamunda police station IIC S Dharua.
