Police have lodged a murder case and began investigation into the suspicious death of a minor girl, who was allegedly kidnapped on June 30 from Balanga Bazaar,
As per allegation of the girl’s father, she was kidnapped by one Gadadhar Behera of village Khairikunda and taken to Bhubaneswar.
Based on the girl’s father’s complaint, police had registered a kidnap case and rescued the girl from Bhubaneswar and arrested Gadadhar.
After medical test and recording of the girl’s statement, police handed over her to her family. But on July 3, the girl was rushed to the Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar in a critical condition and she died while undergoing treatment.
After the girl’s death, her father filed an FIR at the Balanga police station on Thursday alleging that Gadadhar’s sister Jhuna had given a black-colour liquid to her daughter and she consumed it. So, the family of the Gadadhar is responsible for the death of his daughter.
Police have registered a murder case against five members of Gadadhar’s family and begun investigation.
