Girl’s body recovered in Kendrapada

The body of a 21-year-old girl, who had gone missing in Govari river on Tuesday morning, was recovered from the river water on Wednesday.

It is suspected that the deceased, Itishree Lenka, daughter of Abhiram Lenka of Kainkula village under Pattamundai police limits, might have been attacked by crocodiles.

The girl had taken a bath in the crocodile infested river by keeping her clothes and chapal on the river embankment. As she did not return, they informed the fire tender personnel.

Later with the help of locals, the fire personnel started a search and rescue operation but failed to trace the girl. On Wednesday, a local saw the body of the girl floating in the river and informed police.
