A joint forum of the General Insurance employees unions held a one-day strike here on August 4 opposing the General Insurance Privatization Bill passed in the Lok Sabha on August 2.
They demanded wage revision pending since August 1, 2017, family pension enhancement to 30per cent and pension under the 1995 pension scheme. “If the Government will not consider our four demands at the earliest, the joint forum will intensify the agitation,” warned the leaders.
Shyam Sundar Mohapara, SK Majhi, Dusmanta Das, Bamadev Mishra, Ajay Mohanty, Nirad Dixit, Kabi Chandra Das, Gysuddin Khan and Ramesh Nayik among others were present.
