To help ensure public trust in gems and jewellery, the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) India organised education seminars on “Diamonds-Are They Forever?” for members of the trade in Bhadrak, Sambalpur and Jharsuguda recently.
GIA instructor Darshan Sancheti shared insights on diamonds and their properties, the GIA 4Cs of diamond quality, i.e, colour, clarity, cut and carat weight, and the care and cleaning of diamonds.
GIA India and Middle East MD Nirupa Bhatt said, “As a public-benefit institute, the GIA India organises these knowledge seminars to educate and empower the trade. This knowledge would help build consumer confidence in gems and jewellery”. More than 70 members from the Bhadrak Jewellers’ Association, Sambalpur Jewellers’ Association and Jharsuguda Jewellers’ Association attended the meeting to gain important information on diamonds.
