After remaining quiete for some months, expelled BJD leader and former Finance Minister Prafulla Chandra Ghadai on Tuesday reiterated that he is still in the BJD and working for it even as the party has ditched him.
“I am still in the BJD and doing party work. Sukinda is my heart. Even as the BJD has left me, I will continue to do whatever possible on my part for the people of this area till my last breath,” an emotional Ghadei said at a programme organised by the Biju Mahila Janata Dal at Rahasola in Jajpur district.
Ghadai, who attended the programme as chief guest, also stated that the Naveen Patnaik Government is committed for the betterment of women fraternity.
“Many women-centric programmes and welfare measures undertaken by the Naveen Patnaik Government have empowered the female folks in the State,” he said.
Ghadai said women can bring prosperity to a country and they are no less competent than men.
Among others, Danagadi block Chairperson Lopamudra Nayak, Sukinda block Chairperson Padmabati Jena, ZP member Sarojini Raj and Bhagyalaxmi Rout were present.
