A day after allegedly giving a miss to the marriage date, Tirtol BJD MLA Bijaya Shankar Das landed in deeper trouble as his wife-to-be lodged an FIR against him at the Jagatsinghpur police station.
Das’ girlfriend Somalika Dash accused him of cheating and harassment. She also alleged that she and her family are being threatened by the MLA’s relatives.
On Friday, Somalika and her family members had been left waiting at the Registrar of Marriage office at Jagatsinghpur for several hours. The MLA didn’t turn up at the venue.
It is pertinent to mention here that both the MLA and Somalika had applied for marriage at the Registrar of Marriage office in Jagatsingpur on May 17.
