The Gaon Sathi Milita Krianusthan Committee has decided to organise a massive demonstration in front of the State Assembly on June 9 in protest against large-scale corruption in the implementation of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MNREGA) scheme and also to press the demands of Gaon Sathis.
The decision was taken at a State-level meeting of the committee members. The meeting decided to strengthen the organisations from the grassroots level.
“We have decided to gherao the quarters of all MlAs in Bhubaneswar in July. Prior to this, a massive demonstration would be held in front of the Assembly in order to give the Government an idea about our strength,” said committee State coordinator laxmidhar Biswal.
