Police on Monday arrested a man and his mother-in-law for allegedly murdering a Gaon Sathi at Bhawanipur village under the Sundargarh Town police station. The accused were identified as Bhaja Oram and Madhabilata Singh. According to reports, the woman was having an illicit affair with the deceased Ramesh Singh and her son-in-law was opposing it. In order to eliminate Ramesh, the accused duo hatched a plan and invited him to a feast that was arranged at the woman’s house. While Ramesh was having liquor at the feast, the woman attacked him with a sharp weapon and slit his throat, killing him on the spot.
