Ganjam District labour Office Welfare Coordinator Charan Singh was arrested by Vigilance of Brahmapur Division on Monday in a bribery case.
He was nabbed at his office while receiving Rs 6,000 from the complainant Shankar Sahoo, who is Odisha Nirman Shramika Union Ganjam district secretary, for processing a file towards purchase of working tools and safety equipment.
In another case, Revenue Inspector Suresh Chandra Pradhan of Ramadaspur under Baranga Tehsil of Cuttack was arrested for demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 2,000 from the complainant Sarada Nayak of Banra under Banki police station limits in a land mutation case. Cuttack Vigilance sleuths, after registering a case, nabbed Pradhan at his office.
Similarly, Cluster Resource Centre Coordinator Budhadeb Mohanta of Bhuyanpur under Champua Block in Keonjhar district was arrested by Baleswar Vigilance Division for demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 2,000 from the complainant Bhagabat Nayak, headmaster, Bhadaposhi, UPME School for accepting utilisation certificate on improvement grant.
