large numbers of men and women of village Kanisi in Ganjam district gheraoed the office of the Superintendent of Police here on Wednesday in protest against the “illegal” arrest of a fellow villager, Jitendra Rout.
During last four months, the police have twice arrested Rout while he was returning home after taking food in a roadside dhaba near his village.
The villagers along with the family members of Rout gheroaed the SP office demanding early and unconditional release of Rout “as he was arrested without any valid reason. They claimed that Rout is a not an antisocial but a good human.
