Ganjam school for rural kids seeks free land

The London Kids Public School, located in  Rambha in Ganjam district, imparting quality education primarily to rural kids for last five years, is suffering from severe space and financial crunch.

Notably, it is an educational initiative by alumni of leading premier institutes like  IIT, NIT, BITS and JNVS. It was founded in the year 2019 with the sole objective to cater quality education to the rural kids of nearby villages like, Madhurchuan, Sabalia, and Rambha under Ganjam and Khallikote Block, at par with the metro cities in India at an affordable cost.

Though the women-led school was badly affected during Covid-19, but in order to give wings to the children and see them flying, the school implemented many advanced approaches, tools and emerging technologies in the learning process to keep pace with the ongoing digital regime.

Significantly, the school is also providing free education to many poor and needy students as per RTE Act including providing assistance to some students in shape of fellowships, said its Principal.

Currently, the school is operating in a rented house but it is not able to pay the rent, out of its meagre fund. All the fifteen teachers of the school are women having 150 students. The Principal of the school has made an appeal before the State Government to provide a piece of Government land measuring at least half acre near Lakhyabahi Hill under Survey No.1543 for school building.

Recently, a delegation of the school led by its Principal met former Deputy Speaker of Assembly Rama Chandra Panda at his residence and requested him to pursue the matter before the Government for a piece of land.
