Ganjam district’s Sandhamula Revenue Circle Revenue Inspector A Srikanta Kumar Dora on Wednesdaywas arrested by Vigilance officials for demanding and accepting bribe of `2,000.
Dora had demanded the bribe from one Rabindra Nath Rout of Malabelapada village under Kodala PS in the district for mutation of land and also to issue land patta.
Rout alleged that his mother had applied to the Kodala Tehsildar for mutation of land and also to issue land patta (ROR) in her name. As per the direction of the Tehsildar, Rout attached all the documents at the time of submission of application. Subsequently, the land patta was prepared, but the accused Dora demanded the bribe to handover the ROR.
On Rout’s complaint, a trap was laid and Dora was caught red-handed by Vigilance officers.
