A migrant worker from Odisha died of Covid-19 while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Gujarat on Tuesday.
The 27-year-old was a resident of Baduka village under Dharakote block in Ganjam district. The youth, who was working in a textile company in Surat, had been admitted to a Covid Hospital in Surat on May 11 after he developed flu-like symptoms.
He died of septicemia with septic shock with Covid-19 positive bilateral pneumonitis with subcutaneous emphysema, sources said.
He had migrated to Surat to eke out a living a year back. He was staying in a shared accommodation at Dharti Nagar in the industrial city.
A pall of gloom descended on his village after his death. He is survived by his father, mother, wife and a two-year-old child.
