Health Supervisor, Khandadeuli Community Health Centre, Rambha, Ganjam, Bulu Kumar Nayak was arrested for receiving bribe on Saturday.
He was demanding and accepting Rs 3,000 from complainant Mayadhar Nahak of Mathurachuan village under Rambha police station to process a file for issue of birth certificate in favour of his son when he was trapped by Vigilance sleuths. Brahmapur Vigilance lodged a case under the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018.
In another case, PEO, Sanahuma gram panchayat under Gudari Block, Rayagada Nagabhusan Tula was arrested by the Vigilance sleuths of Koraput Division for demanding and accepting illegal gratification of Rs 2,000 from complainant Sankar Lima of Panganapadar village under Gudari police limits for release of third installment of Rs 45,000 towards construction of a house under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) Scheme. A trap was laid on Saturday and the accused was caught red-handed. The Koraput Vigilance has lodged a case.
In yet another case, SI of Excise, Kotpad, Koraput, Thailo Oram was arrested for receiving bribe of Rs 25,000 from complainant Padman Nayak of Raniguda village under Kundura police limits. Oram’s house at Sundargarh was searched. He was forwarded to court on the same day and remanded to judicial custody till November 28.
