Farmers under the banner of the Rushikulya Rayat Mahasabha went in a procession and staged a dharna before the Ganjam district Collectorate demanding release of a special package for the Phailin and flood-affected farmers of the district.
A number of farmers and trade union leaders criticised the apathetic attitude of the State Government towards the affected farmers. They submitted a memorandum to the district Collector demanding fulfilment of their 12-point charter of demands.
leaders Prafulla Samantara, Rabi Rath and Simanchal Nahak while addressing the farmers said the problems the farmers in the State cannot be resolved till the Naveen Government is ousted from power.
