The current trend of the number of Covid recoveries surpassing the number of infected cases on a daily basis in Ganjam district has not only down-slid the graph line of active cases but also created a sense of relief among the people of the district.
The numbers of positive cases detected during the last five days were 46, 68, 75, 58 and 65, respectively. While a total of 19,557 positive cases were detected by Saturday, 223 (eight of them for reasons other than Covid) of them have died and 19,059 have recovered. Thus, the district has 285 active cases, a number which is less than numbers of 28 other districts. Only Deogarh has 121 active cases. The share of Ganjam cases in the State’s Covid count is also decreasing.
According to the Health Department data, while the district had shared 13.1% of the State’s count on August 14, it came down to 5.29% on September 1 and to 1.54% on September 19.
