The Ganjan Congress expressed concern over the celebration of the local Self-Government Day by the BJD led Brahmapur Municipal Corporation (BMC) to mark the 150th years completion of the urban body.The Congress alleged that city’s Mayor, Deputy Mayor, Corporators, lawyers’ body, teachers and students were also not invited for the celebration.
The hoardings of CM and the party flags in the city prove that the day was of the BJD, said the Congress leaders and asked the Chief Minster to declare the celebration of the day as party function or apologise to the people.
Among others, District Congress Committee president Bhagwan Gantayat, spokesperson Pitabas Panda, general secretary Malay Bisoi, Durga Prasad Panda, Sunya Das and Nagar Congress president Sanjeet Panigrahi were present.
