The newly constituted Mahanagar Mandal BJP held a meeting here on Friday to introspect over the performance of the party in the recent polls. It was presided over by District BJP president Bijay Kumar Swain.

Senior BJP leaders of the district and party’s candidate for Brahmapur Parliamentary Constituency Rama Chandra Panda and other candidates who contested polls in five out of the seven Assembly constituencies such as Shiva Shankar Das (Brahmapur), Bijay Kumar Swain (Hinjili), Udaynath Pradhan (Chikiti), Dharanidhar Behera (Chatrapur), Bibhuti Bhusan Jena (Gopalpur), and Yuvaraj Birakishore Deo (Sanakhemundi) were present. The meeting was organised and coordinated by newly elected president of Mahanagar Mandal BJP Dr Bhavani Sankar Das, where 200 party functionaries attended.

The enthusiastic members thanked the voters of the country for giving an overwhelming mandate in favor of BJP reposing unflinching faith on the leadership Narendra Modi.

They also thanked the local voters as the party secured more votes compared to the last elections in all the Assembly seats under Brahmapur Parliamentary constituency.

Among other things, the meeting unanimously resolved to dissolve the three organisational districts of the party (Brahmapur, Chhatrapur, and Bhanjanagar) and constitute a single organisational district to function in  the whole Ganjam  district.

The leaders appealed to all the party workers to work unitedly to strengthen the party at the grassroots and reach the benefit of the Modi Government to all sections of society. Most members alleged that the ruling BJD captured power by spending huge amount of money, rigging, booth capturing and EVM tempering.
