Former BJP Ganjma district president Kanhu Charan Pati, president Bibhuti Bhusan Jena and party leader lawyer Srikanta Padhi have hailed the three agriculture Bills passed in the Parliament on Sunday.
The leaders described the bills as historic and farmer-friendly. “Farmers will get a wider and diverse market which will help them double their income,” claimed Jena.
The bills aim to provide several benefits to small and marginal farmers with less than five hectares of land. Farmers and traders can sell and purchase products even outside ‘mandis’, they pointed out.The Bills also provide for removal of items such as cereals and pulses from the list of essential commodities.
