A woman and her son were electrocuted in Logha village in the Khallikot area of Ganjam district on Friday. The deceased were identified as Nibasi Pahan (50) and her son Jitendra (23) of Logha
Bhagi Pahan (60), one of the relatives of Nibasi, sustained critical injuries in the incident trying to come to their rescue, reports said.
Nibasi and Jitendra came in contact with live wires while doing some work on their roof in the afternoon. The mother-son duo died on the spot.
Villagers rescued Bhagi and rushed him to Khallikot Community Health Centre. He was later shifted to the MKCG Medical College Hospital in Brahmapur after his condition deteriorated.
Getting information, police reached the spot, seized the bodies and sent them for postmortem.
