Excise Department officials on the instructions of Deputy Superintendent of Excise of Prabhat Kumar Sethy conducted raids at several places in Gajapati district to curb illegal ganja trading.
They seized 69.60 kilogram of ganja worth lakhs in three separate incidents.
In the first incident, they arrested one Dipulal Bagh near Deviti village on the outskirts of Paralaklhemundi and seized the contraband of more than seven kg. In another incident, one Jaga Hantal was nabbed from the Paralakhemundi bus-stand after seizure of 12-kg ganja.
Gesan Sabar(26) was arrested from Adasing junction after he was found in the possession of 50-kg ganja.
The accused were forwarded to court under the relevant Sections of the NDPS Act.
Excise officials Nabasmita Nayak, Bringraj Dami, Smita Pansar and other staffs conducted the raids.
