The Special Task Force (STF) of State Crime Branch on Saturday arrested Sheikh Jabid alias Danga, a close associate of arrested gangster Usman Ali alias Tito, for his alleged involvement in the abduction of a contractor.
The STF arrested him after conducting a series of raids at his village in Kendrapada district.
Danga is the prime accused in the kidnapping of contractor Siba Prasad Parida on September 9, 2017. As Parida had refused to give extortion money to Tito, Danga kidnapped him from his office. Later, he was brutally assaulted at the gangster’s hideout.
“Danga has been booked under Sections 323, 324, 294, 506, 307, 386, 387, 34 of IPC and Section 25 and 27 of Arms Act,” informed police. He was later produced in the District Judge and Sessions Court. Notably, after his arrest, Tito is still running his crime syndicate from the confines of the prison through his associates.
