The 160th birth anniversary of poet Gangadhar Meher was celebrated here on Sunday by the Gangadhar Meher Jayanti Committee, the Culture Department and the Utkal Sammilani. Jayanti Committee advisor Narendra Kumar Mishra and chairman Sanjeeb Chandra Hota and others paid their tributes to the legendary poet by paying floral tributes to his statue at Gangadhar Meher Marg near Kalinga Hospital Square.Utkal Sammilani Mancheswar branch president Dillip Dashsharma presided over the function. Journalist Pradumyna Satpathy, former committee advisor Sukadeb Meher, vice-president Brahmananda Meher, Niranjan Dash, Sital Mohanty and Madhumadhab Jena spoke about poets contributions.
