The Jagata Janani Mahila Samiti held Gandhi Jayanti on Wednesday. Naba Prabhata Sisu Vidya Mandir headmaster Bishnu Charan Sutar was the chief guest on the occasion.
Paradip Municipality councillor Chapala Swain, Paradip Sakhyarata Samity project coordinator Rabi Swain, local BJD youth president Susil Mohapatra and scribe Prasant Kumar Rout joined as guests and discussed about the life of Gandhi and Gandhian philosophy.
Naliniprabha Sahoo presided over the meeting. Vote of thanks was given by Babita Jena. Mandakini Jena coordinated. Earlier, the guests garlanded a statue of Gandhi. A prayer was held near the statue. Hundreds of locals and school children participated.
