The 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi was observed holding a wide range of activities here on Wednesday. A Prabhat Pheri was organised in the port township followed by a mass sanitation drive at Paradip Bus Stand here.
Trade union leader and BJD State secretary Santosh Kumar Pattnaik garlanded the statue of Biju Patnaik and Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose here.
Later a national integrity rally began from the bus stand to ADM Office, Madhuban here led by Municipality Chairman Basanta Kumar Biswal.
Paradip MLA Sambit Routray, Paradip ADM Dr Kahnu Charan Dhir, Executive Officer Dilip Kumar Mohanty, PPT FA and CAO SK Sahu, Municipality Vice-Chairperson Prabhati Nayak, BJP Paradip Mandal president Kailash Chandra Sahoo, councellors, SHG members and public joined the rally. A statue of Gandhiji in front of ADM office was also unveiled.
