Five days after his resignation from the Congress, former Chief Minister Giridhar Gamang and his son Sisir were on Thursday asked by the party high command’s office to meet party president Sonia Gandhi on June 9 and 10 in New Delhi.
Gamang tendered his resignation on May 30 from the party blaming both Central and State leaderships for not defending him for his single vote against the confidence motion that caused the fall of the Vajpayee Government in 1999.
Earlier, Sisir Gamang, who has also resigned from the party, hinted at his father joining the BJP in a grand ceremony.
