Gajbhiye asked to surrender fish pond in a month

The Gop Tehsildar has issued notices to four persons, including former Kendrapada SP Satish Gajbhiye's wife Ranjana Gajbhiye asking them to surrender all Government lands encroached by them at Badkiapala under Barimunda revenue circle in a month's time.

Notably, during an inquiry conducted two months ago, it was found that Ranjana along with others had encroached upon a total of 22 acres of Government land at the Badakiapal mouza and had dug four ponds for fish farming purposes. Thereafter, 144 of CrPC had been imposed on the land.

But it is now found that land grabbers have cunningly laid around 200 electric poles to connect electricity to the ponds for undertaking fish farming.

"We have served notices to four persons in connection with the Government land encroachment.  The lands will be evicted soon," said Tehsildar Sonia Behera.  The other three persons who have been served notice are Deepak Kumar Nanda, Kulamani Rout and Dillip Kumar Nayak.

As per allegations, while Ranjana has encroached 1.69 acres of land, Deepak 8.62 acres, Dillip 3.3 acres and Kulamani has encroached .75 acres land.
