The death of ACF Soumya Ranjan Mohapatra at his official residence in a fire mishap is still shrouded in mystery even after 22 days of the incident. The sensational case which is being investigated by the Paralakhemundi police with the help of Crime Branch officials has witnessed many twists and turns but yet the investigators are yet to reach any conclusion.
Though Paralakhemundi cops have interrogated deceased’s wife Bidyabharati Panda twice at her home in Kaptipada in Mayurbhanj, they are still tightlipped.Meanwhile, family of ACF has threatened to immolate themselves in front of Naveen Niwas if they don’t get justice. Besides, Saumya’s mother has moved the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) for a thorough probe. These developments have triggered ripples here and one of main accused and Gajapati DFO has clarified that he is in no way involved in death of his subordinate and he had good relations with latter. He also has claimed that he had never gone to Saumya residence.Sources claimed that Bidyabharati might be soon summoned and interrogated at P’khemundi police station.
