In a move to douse the public anger against the Gajapati district administration, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Sunday shifted the District Magistrate Badudeb Bahinipati, a senior OAS officer, and posted a young woman IAS officer Mansi Nimbhal as the new Collector.
People’s wrath is due to the mishandling of the case of Sunita Raita of Dipti Nagar in the district, who committed suicide in frustration as she failed to get stipend to pursue her ANM course.Sunita had squarely blamed the Collector and district ITDA Project Administrator for the delay in releasing her stipend that was due to her for 16 long months.
Bahnipati was posted as the AYUSH Director under the Department of Health & Family Welfare. His successor in Gajapati is 2010-batch IAS officer Mansi Nimbhal, who was Project Director, DRDA, Mayurbhanj.Earlier on Saturday, the Chief Minister had also announced an ex-gratia of Rs 1 lakh for next of kin of Sunita to assuage people’s feelings.
A few more changes were effected on Sunday with 2010-batch IAS officer Sudhanshu Mohan Samal being posted as District Magistrate of Boudh in place of 2002- batch officer Mahendra Kumar Mallick, who was transferred as the State Project Director, OPEPA.D Brundha, a 2010-batch IAS officer, who was Deputy Secretary in the Panchayati Raj Department, was posted as Additional Commissioner of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), replacing Bishnu Prasad Mishra, who was transferred as Joint Secretary, Culture.
The Government also gave new postings to all the 2011-batch IAS officers on the day. Arindam Dakua was posted as Project Director, DRDA, Mayurbhanj. He was Sub-Collector, Champua, Keonjhar. Samath Verma, who was Sub-Collector, Koraput, was posted as Project Director, DRDA, Koraput.
Similarly, among other 2011-batch officers G Reghu, who was Sub-Collector, Balliguda, was posted as Project Director, DRDA, Malkangiri. Ashish Thakre, who was Sub-Collector, Chhatrapur, was posted as Project Director, DRDA, Ganjam and K Sudarshan Chakravarthy, Sub-Collector, Patnagarh. was posted as ADM, Rourkela.OAS officer Bisikeshan Dehuri, who was Sub-Collector, Titilagarh, was shifted to Athamalik as Sub-Collector.
