Chit fund investors of Gajapati district have resented police inaction on chit fund companies that have duped them of lakhs of rupees.
“Police have taken little action on our complaints against chit fund companies like Green India, Golden and Sea Shore. Agents and office staffs of these companies are moving freely in front of us. We are unsure of getting return of our hard earned money,” lamented some duped investors.
Acting on our complaints, the police have only detained them for a few hours and released them later, they alleged.
When asked, Paralakhemundi police station IIC Babuli Nayak said, “We have not received new complaints from chit fund investors. If any complaint is lodged, we will certainly take action.”
He said all earlier eight cases filed at the police station have been transferred to the CBI which is investigating multi-crore chit fund scam in the State.
