The Vigilance police on Saturday conducted house searches on the properties and locations connected to Dillip Kumar Sahu, Assistant Engineer, Raygada block in Gajapati district, on the allegation of possession of assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
So far, the movable and immovable assets unearthed in the names of Sahu and his family members included a 3-BHK flat at Spectrum Malati Residency in Gopabandhu Nagar in Brahmapur, a single-storied house at Vijaya Vihar, Brahmapur, 12 plots in prime areas in and around Brahmapur worth Rs 34.28 lakh.
Besides, bank deposits worth Rs 3.44 lakh, cash of Rs 2.76 lakh, gold and silver ornaments and household articles worth over Rs 17.02 lakh were detected.
Further searches were continuing. Unearthing of more assets was likely and overall valuation was likely to increase.
