The Gajapati district administration on Monday snapped all approaching routes to Odisha by digging roads in three places on the Andhra Pradesh border as people persistently disobeyed the Covid rules and enforcements. Despite strict enforcement, people always tried to find alternative routes to enter Andhra Pradesh and people from the other side to Odisha.
As it continued for weeks, with the instructions from district Collector Anupam Saha, police and local administration disconnected roads at Saradhapur near Gajapati Nagar connected with Chapra of Andhra Pradesh and at Bhinnola connected to Melliaputi and near Kasamala of Andhra Pradesh.
These routes were disconnected by digging roads with JCB machines. The work was supervised by Additional Tehsildar Bipin Chandra Lima, RI Sagarraj Dalai and other staffs of the Revenue Department.
