Gajapati Zilla Parishad President Anitarani Behera lodged a complaint with the SP Vigilance, Brahmapur, against Project Director, DRDA, Gajapati, for resorting to corrupt practices and taking decision on his own bypassing her. She sought an inquiry against the PD.
Behera said that DRDA PD Chanchal Rana resorted to financial irregularities in building a Panchayat Resource Centre at a cost of Rs 2 crore. Besides, the PD executed the district headquarters works through block agencies even though the DRDA is having JE and EE for the purpose.
Behera said Rana was collecting PC; and without knowledge of the ZP president he sends project proposals to different blocks.
She alleged though the Gajapati Collector had sanctioned BPGY special houses to different blocks on her recommendation, but the DRDA employees collected huge money from the beneficiaries as their PC.
Besides, the PD sanctioned over Rs 50 lakh and Rs 35 lakh for renovation purpose of his official quarters renovation and conference hall rooms respectively illegally.
She also complained that Rana always misbehaved with her; did not show his tour diary since his joining in the district; and did not bring a single file or letter to her notice for approval.
