In an effort to provide every underprivileged child the right to play, Pro4Sport Solutions (P4SS), a sport development organisation, will be organising a barefoot run on July 21.

The run is part of the Khel Vikas (sport development) movement that P4SS has initiated with rural development organisation, Gram Vikas in the State. The event aims to raise money for 1,500 underprivileged children, who don't have the privilege of owning a pair of shoes. The run will start before the village of Tamana on Chikiti road and end near the main gate of Gram Vikas head office in Mohuda.

The voluntary donations raised through the run will be used for funding 1,500 pairs of shoes for children who are part of four rural schools of Gram Vikas located in the districts of Ganjam, Gajapati and Kalahandi. Speaking about the initiative, P4SS co-founder Aman Dhall said that the objective of the run is to highlight the difficulties an underprivileged child faces in terms of competing in a sport.

“We would like to appeal to the local residents in the city to shed their socks and shoes for a day and come for a run, which will helps us raise money for youth who hold the future of this country,” he said. P4SS co-founder Suheil Tandon said that support from the local community and educational institutions will be the key to the success of the event.
