'Fulfil ambulance staff demands'

Published on:

The BJP on Thursday alleged that the State Government is not fulfilling the demands of ambulance service drivers and other employees in the interest of the contractual agency ‘Jikitsa’ that have engaged them in the service.“The State Government has virtually sold out the health services to the contractual agency run by a son of a senior Congress leader,” alleged party’s State vice-president Sameer Mohanty at a Press meet here.

Mohanty said though drivers and other staffs have staged agitations umpteen times to press for fulfillment of their legitimate demands, the State Government has not paid any heed as there is nexus between it and the company. He said the Government has even filed false cases and arrested some ambulance drivers for the company’s interest.Mohanty demanded that the Government drive out the company and directly manage ambulance services in the better interest of people of the State. He too demanded that all demands of the ambulance staffs be met soon.  Mohanty and party spokesperson Sajjan Sharma met agitating drivers and other staffs here and conveyed the BJP’s solidarity to them.k,
