An under-trial prisoner (UTP), who had escaped from the premises of the Additional District and Sessions Judge Court here recently, was arrested by the Town police on Tuesday.
The UTP identified as Krishna Lohar is a resident of Gambharia village of the district. Sources said police nabbed Krishna when he was hiding in a school near the village.
On May 1, Krishna had escaped while he was being taken along with other accused to be produced in the ADJ court.
He was arrested on July 3, 2018 in connection with the rape of a minor girl. Two police officials were also suspended for negligence in duty in the case.
“Action will be taken against the UTP for fleeing from the court premises. Besides, two of his associates have been detained,” said Town Police Station IIC Somnath Jena.
