The BJD on Saturday slammed the Union Government again for skyrocketing of the petrol and diesel prices, which have affected consumer market adversely.
“The prices of petrol and diesel have increased to the maximum point during the current NDA Government. General consumers are facing a lot of problem due to inefficiency and lack of foresight of Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan,” alleged BJD State secretary Bijay Nayak in a statement.
He further alleged that even as the Minister is talking to include petrol and diesel in the Goods and Services Tax (GST) system, his Ministry has not taken any step in this regard. This shows Pradhan’s dual policy only, said Nayak.
Stating that continued increase in taxes by the Union Government has increased fuel prices, Nayak urged Pradhan to take realistic measure to reduce prices at the earliest.
